While the Articles Awards reward individual articles, the Newsletters Awards, Ranking & Survey rewiew firms’ publications overall considered. 30 firm’s antitrust news letters and other professional publications have been reviewed.

AWARDS

They are around 120 antitrust professional publications published by law firms and economic consulting firms. Quality and interest of these publication vary but are going into the right direction due to increased competition between firms. The growing number of ranking of individual lawyers or firms practices has make it necessary for firms to show their expertise in a different way. However, client capacities to read or browse such publications is limited. They are too many of these publications - and too many the same - to have a fair view of what is worth reading or watching. Ranking such publications is meant to guide counsels on which publications they should read first, depending what they are looking for. They are 10 Newsletters Awards:

RANKINGS

The above awards are based on 10 individual rankings. Each Award is given to the firm’s publications reaching the higher rank in each of the following category:

1. Global Ranking: The Global Ranking is based on the 9 rankings below.
2. Country coverage: Ranking based on the number of jurisdictions addressed in the 2013 publications of each firm
3. Cases Coverage: Ranking based on the number of cases reported in the 2013 publications of each firm
4. IP & Antitrust: Ranking based on the number of cases concerning antitrust and IP published in the 2013 publications of each firm
5. Private enforcement: Ranking based on the number of cases concerning private enforcement published in the 2013 publications of each firm
6. Asian Antitrust: Ranking based on the number of cases concerning antitrust in Asia published in the 2013 publications of each firm
7. Readership: Ranking based on number of counsels acknowledging receiving the surveyed publications (based on a questionnaire send to 3,500 counsels)
8. Counsel Choice: Ranking based on the newsletter preferred by counsels (based on a questionnaire send to 3,500 counsels)
9. Accessibility: Ranking based on objective criteria (pdf/html/print publications, access to archives…) and subjective criteria (search engine features…) of the website of each firm
10. Innovation: Ranking based on innovative professional publications such as blogs, e-books, webinars, videos… made available on the website of each firm

SURVEY

The 2014 Antitrust Professional Publication Survey is the largest empirical study ever undertaken in the field of antitrust professional publications (news letters, clients briefs, alerts, memorandum, blogs, webinars, videos etc.). This survey focuses on current and preferred practices in the field of antitrust professional publications. This market research provide detailed information on how antitrust newsletters and related publications are performing.
